Ben Brown – Moonjack / Raika EP
Catalog #: AL034
Release Date: October 25, 2011
Exclusively at Beatport.com | Click Here To Purchase

After a brief hiatus, Audio Logic Recordings is back in the saddle with a fantastic release by Ben Brown. Moonjack is quite the groover featuring pulsating bass, quick stabs and eerie strings. The track is an essential dance floor weapon.

Alex Zelenka and DJZ have kicked it up a notch with their interpretation of Moonjack. To the point, they get right down to business with incredible energy coming straight away. It’s big sound here and will definitely be a burner on the floors.

Nick Stoynoff’s remix of Moonkjack offers up a refreshing funky house mix and shows deft versatility with his production. The mix remains very groovy throughout and features some of his signature progressive sound. Nick definitely knows how to blur the line between genres.

Tolgar offers up a jaw dropping dubstep rework of Moonjack. No words to describe it but pure awesomeness.

Finally, the package concludes with Raika. Ben provides his driving groove while providing a modern take on the classic progressive sound. A great tune to end the night with.

03. Seba Rebolero Remix
[audio:http://www.audiologicrecordings.com/audio/Tyler_Hampton-Fenske_Seba_Rebolero_Remix.mp3]

Charley “Tyler Hampton” Pugmire, formerly of The Hamptons duo, has returned to Audio Logic with an amazing production called Fenske. Funky, groovy, epic and a whole hell of a lot more adjectives can be used to describe this genre-bending masterpiece. The initial groove gets down with lots of funk and swing then comes out of no where with an epic break down chock full of emotive strings. Tyler then leads to a break beat build up and is a blast from the past as he takes it back to the original groove and finishes the track with lots of energy.

Fenske has had its share of early support with its inclusion on the Human Frequency mix compilation by D:Fuse and the wizard himself, James Zabiela, calling the breakdown in the original mix, “epic”.

After a chance meeting at the Beatport Pool Party in Miami, Jan van Lier expressed his interest in working with Audio Logic. Jan’s take on Fenske is downright hypnotizing. He unleashes a sexy groove out of the gates and leads up to infectious, lingering pads. Jan’s mix has the early support of Definitive boss John Acquaviva and will surely appeal to a wide variety of music heads.

South American newcomer Seba Rebolero offers up a dark and groovy interpretation of Fenske. Seba slowly builds the tension and fires away after the break. Seba’s mix has loads of support from south of the equator!

Feedback

Andy Moor – Supporting original mix 7/10

Ben Brown – Great release, full support on Tyler’s original. 8.5/10

David Call – Enjoying the whole package, but the original is definitely for me. 8/10

Diego Mongelos – Great EP… there are many sounds and all the mixes have a great atmosphere. The Jan Van Lier mix is a really good progressive tune, but my favorite is the Seba Rebolero remix. Good vibe and builds. Full support! 8/10

Joe Fisher – Seba Rebolero is my pick here! Fantastic EP… will chart and play. 9/10

John Acquaviva – Love the bumpy groove. It’s funk-proggy and should appeal to all sorts. It’s very pryda-ish.

On | Off aka Benas Ivanovas, hails from Kaunas, Lithuania and joins the growing roster of talented artists on Audio Logic Recordings with his release of The Gift. The Gift is a downtempo progressive tune with a haunting vocal snippet proclaiming “Thank You For This Gift”. Groovy percussion and classy synths complete the track.

Diego Mongelos checks in with his first remix on Audio Logic since his original Livin In Stigma release. Diego’s interpretation goes the dub route keeping the vocal subdued while creating an intoxicating groove that is dark and dirty.

Nick Stoynoff’s sound has been evolving with each release on Audio Logic and he really shines here with his remix of The Gift. Nick gets going straight away with punchy percussive work that is sure to ignite dance floors and leads into an amazing break that shows why Nick Stoynoff will become a familiar name. This is Nick’s best work to date on Audio Logic.

To complete the package, Tyler Hampton (aka The Hamptons) provides an amazing interpretation of The Gift with his first remix on Audio Logic… chunky and groovy!

Reactions & DJ Support

Nico Heins – Stoynoff’s remix is packed with punch, groovy percussion and warm synth lines that particularly characterize Stoynoff’s melodramatic sound. It’s like icing on the cake to hear the original tribalish feel slipping through Nick’s deeply detailed rework. Superb! 10/10

Rob Passow (M.O.D.E.) – Diego’s mix is superb. 9/10

Press Release:
Ben Brown delivers two new additions to the Audio Logic Recordings catalog with the release of Chinstroke and 151. Ben has the support of many major artists and has not looked back since the release of Love and Solace in 2007. With Audio Logic’s first mix compilation due out soon and Ben at the wheel, his profile and support will continue to rise.

Chinstroke showcases Audio Logic’s distinctive progressive sound. The track starts with slamming percussion that builds with an airy tension. Haunting melodies captivate the listener in a rage of energy as the lead filters in and out. The driving bass line creates an intense experience as the track builds and channels incredible energy. Release Date: February 17th 2009

Chicago & Istanbul native Tolgar, debuts with his first original on Audio Logic Recordings titled Transistor Radial. The tune is an electro-house banger that gets down to business straight away instead of building up with each element. Tolgar produces serious effects on the bass channel, which make each sound-effect like it’s own element within the track! Crazy arpeggios give the tune it’s groove and pitch shifts are created from varying the octaves. Tolgar bit crushes many elements to give it a grainy feel and makes Transistor Radial a perfect tune for the electro heads.

Dub Mechanics from Los Angeles, provide a stripped back and groovy alternative to Tolgar’s raw arrangement. They lead into the wicked bass that makes the original unique and add a sub-bass that after hearing makes it hard to stand still. Punchy percussion drives the track and as the arrangement breaks down, tension builds to a sudden drop and hits hard on the floor.

Newcomer on Audio Logic, Nico Heins, offers a fresh interpretation of Transistor Radial. Nico’s approach is deeper and he picks up on the progressive sound you are familiar with on Audio Logic. Lush pads and eerie leads add space throughout the mix and the wicked bass from the original is placed well with excellent effects. Nico Hein’s ethereal sound and infectious groove rounds out the package.

DJ Reactions

Behrouz – I like the Nico Heins remix and will play it. Thank you. 7/10

Blende – Definitely the Original Mix for me.

Blue Room Project – Nico Heins version is a bit haunting but works well for me.
8/10

Chad North – I like all the mixes! Dub Mechanics has this dark, groovy shit going
on and I can definitely hearing this going off at an underground club. It’s the late-night one of the bunch. The Nico Heins remix is pure class. From the build-up to when it opens up… the pad and added bass takes the track to an entirely different place. The Original mix just gets stupid! Not simply a head-nodder… it commands your attention and drops like a fucking hammer. This is a party track – straight up. Nice one… full support 8/10

David Call – This package epitomizes what I’ve come to expect from a new Audio Logic release. Understated elements that provide a unique groove unlike the kind of music I’m usually into. Definitely the Nico Heins remix for me as it provides the catchy hook I’m always drawn to. 9/10

Dylan Rhymes – I prefer the original mix to all the others. Original is much chunkier and ballsy! Well done!

Flash Brothers – Cool Stuff! We like the Nico Heins remix. 7/10

James Zabiela – The Nico Heins Remix is cool, thanks. 7/10

Johan Soh aka Jariten – With squelchy basslines and that bleepy edge that I love, this Tolgar release presses all the right buttons!

Kares – Tolgar’s mix is definitely my favorite! Bass heavy and like an
Invitation to the pants party! It kind of reminds me of Mario eating the mushrooms and growing bigger.

Mashtronic – The Nico Heins remix is my pick here… Nice release. 7/10

Mike Hiraztka – Cool grooves and effected bits, nice production all around. 7/10

Nosmo – Slamming release for Audio Logic. These will definitely be peak time mixes. The bass guitar and intricate environments of the Nico Heins mix make that the one for me. Go Tolgar! 7/10

Pablo Decoder – Fat bass and wicked noises! I like the original mix a lot.

Seneca – Love the Dub Mechanics punch and Nico Hein’s remix is extraordinary! 8/10

Solarstone – Audio Logic is one of very few labels that get me excited when I go through the glut of promos each week. As hot chocolate so deftly put it; “every one is a winner!” 10/10

Stephan (Progressive-World.at) – Pretty chunky original mix! I didn’t see that coming on Audio Logic. Dub Mechanics Mix is a bit better than the original in my opinion. The Nico Heins remix on the other hand is a really nice piece of music! It gets my support for sure!

Thomas Sagstad – Nico Heins remix is growing on me.

Christopher Manik is back again on Audio Logic with his first-ever LP titled Astoria & The Skeleton Key. Christopher shows his diversity with Astoria & The Skeleton Key having included tech-house, progressive and chill-out tunes of superb quality. The Smiley Face Gang explodes onto the senses with crushed synths beginning a techy groove. Blippy melodic patterns and glitchy percussive bits work into a frenzy. Stong bass lines and big crashes add a violent feel to the track, no pun intended. Dobbs Battery Room goes straight for the big rooms with it huge hook. A massive low-end bass line accompanies the melody and crushed claps add a minimal flair. 2 Pianos leads in with crunchy percussion and Manik filters in the piano melody. He sequences a driving rhythm with the piano riffs and a wicked bass line that escalates the track. The track has an unforgettable hook and is a proper dance floor bomb to be used at peak hours of the night. November features a stuttering synth line that takes listeners on a melodic, progressive journey and the track has an epic feel to it. Monster and Juniper are Christopher’s down-tempo tunes that show off his versatility as a producer. Monster has a movie sound-track feel to it with piano & pads that convey tons of emotion. Juniper finishes off the LP in proper fashion with a
calming, dreamy vibe.
